What is a medical emergency?
An ambulance should always be called in the case of a medical emergency. A medical emergency can be classified by the following:
- Loss of consciousness
- Head injuries
- Stroke symptoms
- sudden headaches
- vision problems
- weakness
- difficulties speaking
- dizziness
- numbness
- and/or tingling in the arm, face or leg
- Heart attack symptoms
- persistent chest pains or tightness
- Having difficulty breathing/choking
- Drug overdose
- Possible broken bones
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Drowning
- Unexpected seizure
- Serious burns
