United Way Centraide North East Ontario
North East Ontario, May 21, 2020 – United Way Centraide North East Ontario/Nord-estde l’Ontario (UWCNEO) is now accepting funding applications for the Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF), the $350M investment made by the Government of Canada, that is being delivered through United Way Centraide Canada, Community Foundations of Canada and the Canadian Red Cross. Funds earmarked through this initiative will provide financial support to charities serving vulnerable individuals disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Throughout the North East Region, UWCNEO has been allocated over $1M to invest in community based charities who have worked tirelessly to provide emergency support to our most vulnerable citizens. The demand for services has increased dramatically, and these much-needed resources will have a tremendous impact.

Connecting community in times of need: Get Help. Give Help. Donate.
In March 2020, the United Way Centraide North East Ontario launched the Local Love in A Global Crisis Community Response Fund; an initiative targeted to meeting basic needs and providing support for seniors through programs and services. It is also helping to provide capacity for community services and support for volunteers.
If you require basic essentials including food, grocery and pharmacy delivery, or telephone safety checks, please take a moment to fill out a survey so that we can help connect you to services that are available in the community.
If you would like to volunteer in the community, please fill out this short survey. The United Way Centraide North East Ontario, Volunteer Sudbury, Public Health Sudbury & Districts and the City of Greater Sudbury are working to identify opportunities and ensure volunteers are properly trained to stay safe and maintain their health.
If you would like to donate to the Local Love in A Global Crisis Community Response Fund, you will help provide emergency grants to local charitable organizations working to meet the basic needs of individuals disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.
