Site Plan Control Approval Process

1. When you submit your application it will be reviewed by relevant City departments and some outside agencies who will provide comments on the application. See our Site Plan Control Process (PDF, 0.1 MB) for more information.

2. If revisions need to be made or additional documentation needs to be provided you will be given the opportunity to do so. Once they are complete you will submit your revised application for review once more.

3. After your application is found to be complete, an agreement will be prepared to incorporate the terms and conditions for development. Only once the signed agreement is registered on title to your property in priority to any mortgages and you have obtained any required building permits, will you be able to proceed with the work outlined in the site plan control agreement.

4. Once all the work outlined in the site plan agreement has been completed it will need to be inspected and certified. See Site Plan Certification Requirements (PDF, 68 KB) and Subdivision and Off-Site Servicing Certification Requirements (PDF, 42 KB).

5. Once the work has been inspected and certified, any reimbursable deposits you paid will be returned to you. If you have complied with all the terms required then you will be issued a building permit.
