Temporary Blue Box and Green Cart Collection Changes for Some Routes

Following the recent snowstorm, waste collection has resumed. Due to unusually high volumes, temporary changes are needed for some Blue Box and Green Cart routes.

As of Thursday, April 2, only the scheduled Wednesday Blue Box and Green Cart routes are expected to be completed. Most households with regularly scheduled Blue Box and Green Cart collection on Thursday, April 2 will not receive service today.

For residents with regularly scheduled collection on Thursday, April 2

• Garbage: No change. Collection will take place Thursday.
• Blue Box and Green Cart in Sudbury: Set materials out on Friday, April 3.
• Blue Box and Green Cart in Chelmsford, Azilda, Lively, McCrea Heights, Val Caron, Coniston and Wahnapitae: Set materials out on Saturday, April 4.

Please note that this temporary change for Thursday routes will not appear in the Waste Wise calendar.

For residents whose Friday, April 3 collection was moved to Saturday, April 4 because of Good Friday

• Garbage: No change. Collection will take place Saturday, April 4.
• Blue Box and Green Cart: Rescheduled to Monday, April 6.

Garbage collection is continuing as scheduled, and no changes are expected at this time.

The following services remain temporarily unavailable:

• Furniture, appliance and electronic collection and pick up requests
• Requests for new or additional Green Carts
• Leaf and yard trimming collection, resuming the week of April 13 on the regularly scheduled collection day and week

We know these temporary changes are frustrating and appreciate your patience as crews work to restore the regular schedule.
