Registration for City of Greater Sudbury Summer Day Camps Opening Soon

Summer is fast approaching, and it’s just about time to register your child for camp. The City of Greater Sudbury offers fun and educational day camp programs for children ages 5 to 12:
•    Playground camps feature exciting activities, from outdoor adventures and sports to arts and crafts.
•    Camp Sudaca on Ramsey Lake features swimming, canoeing, hikes, archery and mountain biking.
•    A new H2O camp helps kids improve their swimming skills and confidence in the water.

New this year, playground camps will move to a weekly registration model – like the system used by Camp Sudaca – giving families the flexibility to register for individual weekly sessions. The week-long H2O camp will be offered four times throughout the summer, on specific dates.

Day camp sessions run from June 30 to September 4, with varying options available; not all camps are offered every week. Registration opens on Tuesday, March 31, at 8 a.m. The registration deadline for camps taking place in July is June 19. The registration deadline for camps taking place in August is July 17. To support participation in summer camps, the City has launched a new discount program and a payment plan option and continues to offer subsidies to families requiring financial assistance.

Discounts
•    20 per cent discount for families registering multiple children (applied to the third and any subsequent child).
•    20 per cent discount for families registering for multiple sessions (applied when registering for more than three sessions).
*Only one type of discount may be applied per family.

Payment Plan
The payment plan option allows families to pay 50 per cent at registration and the balance before the start of the session.

Subsidies
Families requiring financial assistance are encouraged to contact Children Services at 705?674?4455, extension 4279 to determine eligibility for fee subsidies. The online application can also be found at www.greatersudbury.ca/summer-care.
*Clients receiving subsidies are not eligible for program discounts.
