Oct 20, 2026
Every day, residents contact the City of Greater Sudbury with questions about municipal services. Here are answers to some of the most common questions received in September 2026, along with helpful resources to make accessing City services easier.
How can I receive my property tax bill online?
Managing your property taxes online is a convenient way to access your bills anytime, anywhere. By enrolling in Online Property Tax Billing, you'll receive notifications when new bills are available and can view your tax information securely without waiting for paper copies to arrive in the mail.
Online billing can help ensure you never miss an important tax notice and makes it easier to keep your records organized.
Helpful Tip: Property owners are still responsible for making payments by the due date, even if they do not receive a bill.

What should I do with leaf and yard trimmings after raking my yard?
Leaf and yard trimmings can be set out for collection on your regular collection day if you receive curbside waste collection service. Accepted materials typically include leaves, grass clippings, garden plants, weeds and small branches prepared according to collection guidelines.
Keeping yard waste separate from garbage helps divert organic materials from landfill and supports the City's waste diversion efforts.
Before placing materials at the curb, be sure to review collection requirements to confirm preparation guidelines and accepted materials.

Why wasn't my garbage picked up?
If your garbage, green bin, or leaf and yard waste has not been collected by 7 p.m. on your scheduled collection day, it may qualify as a missed collection.
There are several reasons why materials may not have been collected, including:
- Items were set out after collection began.
- Materials were not prepared according to collection requirements.
- Collection was delayed due to weather, road conditions or operational issues.
- The item is not accepted through curbside collection.
Please wait until 7 p.m. on your collection day before reporting missed collection. Should your items not be collected by 7 p.m., remove items from the curb and contact 311 the following business day.
When is my next GOVA bus arriving?
The easiest way to find real-time transit information is through the MyBus tool. MyBus provides up-to-date arrival times, route information and service updates, helping riders plan trips confidently and reduce wait times at bus stops.
Whether you're commuting to work, heading to school or travelling across the city, real-time information can help you stay informed about current service conditions.
Helpful Tip: You can search by route number, stop number or location to find the information you need quickly.

How do I report a pothole?
Residents can report potholes, road heaves and roadway dips online through the City's customer service portal, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
When submitting a report, include the exact location whenever possible. Details such as a nearby address, intersection or landmark help staff locate and assess the issue more efficiently.
Once a report is received, City crews review the information and schedule repairs based on severity, roadway conditions and operational priorities.
Helpful Tip: The customer service portal can also be used to report a variety of other road-related concerns and municipal service requests.
