Downtown Snow Removal Begins This Weekend

City crews are getting ready to begin snow removal in downtown Sudbury to widen traffic lanes and improve access. The work will be done from Sunday, January 18 to Friday, January 30, 2026, from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. each day, weather permitting.
The work has been scheduled to cause the least amount of inconvenience for downtown businesses and customers. The schedule is as follows:

• Elm Street, from Paris to Lorne Streets, both sides
Tuesday, January 20, 2026
• Elm Street, from Lorne to Ethelbert Streets, both sides
Wednesday, January 21, 2026
• Durham Street, from Elgin to Beech Streets, both sides
• Larch Street, from Paris to Elgin Streets, both sides
Thursday, January 22, 2026
• Cedar Street, from Paris to Elgin Streets, both sides
• Beech Street, from Durham Street to Frood Road, both sides
Friday, January 23, 2026
• Elgin Street, from Ste. Anne Road to Drinkwater Street, both sides
Monday, January 26, 2026
• Lisgar Street, from Larch to Elm Streets, both sides
• Young Street, from Cedar to Larch Streets, both sides
