The New Sudbury location of the Greater Sudbury Public Library (GSPL) at 1346 Lasalle Boulevard will temporarily close to the public for renovations beginning Monday September 22, 2025. Renovation is expected to last approximately eight weeks.
The renovations will include interior upgrades, a new rooftop HVAC unit and some accessibility improvements. These changes will make for a safer and more comfortable in-branch experience for visitors at the New Sudbury Library.

Curbside services will include:
- Holds pickup and requests
- Limited access to new and express collections
- Library material returns
- Municipal sales (transit tickets, garbage bag tags, animal licenses)
- Printing, scanning, and faxing services
- Supplies for "Take and Make" programs will be available for pickup
During the entire renovation period, the following changes to library services will be in effect:
- No access to public washrooms, meeting rooms or public computers
- Programs will be cancelled, relocated or rescheduled. Check the Events Calendar on the GSPL website for updates.
- The regular New Sudbury Library collection will be unavailable for browsing. Residents are encouraged to browse GSPL’s catalogue and request materials online.
