Expedited Building Permits at Permit Palooza, Resources Available at Sudbury Home Show

Planning a home building project this spring? City of Greater Sudbury staff are available to help you through the process at two upcoming events.

The City is hosting the second Permit Palooza event on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the One-Stop Services Counter in Tom Davies Square. At the first Permit Palooza event, hosted on March 29, 100 per cent of expedited permit applications were approved and issued on the same day.   

Permit Palooza will pilot an expedited process for building permits for select residential projects. Staff from various divisions will be available to support the expedited process and answer questions. 

The following projects are eligible for an expedited permit from Permit Palooza: 

• Weeping tile 

• Single level attached or detached decks 

• Siding 

• Detached garages less than 55 metres squared, without additional dwelling units 

• Above ground pools 

• Sheds greater than 15 metres squared

Building Services staff will also be available to answer questions and provide resources at the upcoming Home, Renovation and Style Show at the Sudbury Arena on April 26 and 27.
