City Announces New Director of Children and Social Services

The City of Greater Sudbury is pleased to announce the promotion of Miranda Mackie as the new Director of Children and Social Services.
Following a recruitment process, Ms. Mackie was selected for the permanent role based on her extensive experience, strong leadership and commitment to inclusion and quality outcomes for children and families. Ms. Mackie holds a BA in Psychology and a master’s degree in Organizational Psychology and brings over 28-years of experience in early learning and child care to the position. As previous Manager of Children Services, she successfully led the local implementation of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care plan and oversaw the integration of EarlyON sites through the Hub Service Integration (HSI) model.

As the Director, Ms. Mackie will oversee the City’s Children and Social Services department, which includes child care and early learning. She begins her new role effective December 22, 2025.
