An extended heat warning issued by Environment Canada has activated the municipal Hot Weather Response Plan.

With hot, humid weather in the forecast for the next few days, Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a heat warning within Public Health Sudbury & Districts’ service area beginning Saturday, August 9, 2025.

A demolition permit for the former Sudbury General Hospital, commonly known as “the old hospital,” was approved and issued by the City of Greater Sudbury earlier today. This marks a significant step toward supporting impactful housing growth and redevelopment in strategic areas of the city.
