Regular hours for lifeguard supervision at municipal beaches will resume and cooling centres will close on Wednesday, August 13. The City of Greater Sudbury extended hours for lifeguard supervision and opened community centres earlier this week in response to an extended heat warning issued by Public Health Sudbury & Districts.

More than 1,000 individuals - participants, along with their friends and family - visited Greater Sudbury last week for the Sudbury 2025 Ontario 55+ Summer Games, hosted by the City of Greater Sudbury with support from the Ontario Ministry of Sport. These visitors, along with the publicity generated by the Games, contributed an estimated $1.2 million in economic benefit to the community.
