2025 Canada Day Municipal Service Schedule

The following municipal services will be closed to the public on Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1:
- Tom Davies Square
- Greater Sudbury Public Library branches (including Citizen Service Centres)
- Municipal pools and fitness facilities
- Greater Sudbury Animal Shelter
The Recycling Centre, landfills and waste transfer sites will be open. Waste collection that would normally occur on Tuesday, July 1 will instead take place on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
GOVA routes will follow holiday service schedules.
City social media accounts are not monitored regularly during weekends and statutory holidays.

Community Celebrations
Celebrate Canada Day at Bell Park and Science North
- Take in free, family-friendly activities at Bell Park, including live entertainment, a scavenger hunt, face painting, inflatables, a splash zone, local vendors, and more. Experience Science North with $5 attractions, 50 per cent off admission and free activities outside.
- Date: July 1, 2025
- Time: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Location: Bell Park and Science North
Bell Park Canada Day Fireworks
- Cap off the night with a breathtaking drone show over Ramsey Lake (10 p.m.), followed by a spectacular fireworks display (10:20 p.m.), presented by the City of Greater Sudbury.
- Date: July 1, 2025
- Time: 10 to 10:30 p.m.
- Location: Ramsey Lake/Bell Park
GOVA Transit will provide Canada Day Celebration shuttle service to Science North on July 1, with buses departing the Downtown Transit Hub and Southridge Mall Stop 5833 (former TSC Hardware entrance), every 30 minutes from 11:45 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Fare is $1 per person and includes the return trip.
At the end of the fireworks show at Science North, GOVA shuttle buses will wait on Ramsey Lake Road, adjacent to the Science North parking lot, to return residents to the Downtown Transit Terminal or to Southridge Mall. We ask that you be patient as buses will depart once full, and will return, as needed, to transport more people.
