Municipal Hours Resume Following End of Heat Advisory
Jun 20, 2024
Regular hours for lifeguard supervision at municipal beaches will resume and cooling centres will close on Thursday, June 20. The City of Greater Sudbury extended hours for lifeguard supervision, opened community centres and extended some library and citizen service hours earlier this week in response to a heat warning issued by Public Health Sudbury & Districts.
Starting Thursday, lifeguards are on duty at Capreol, Centennial and Whitewater beaches from 3 to 7 p.m. Bell Park Main, Moonlight, Nepahwin and Kalmo beaches will be supervised from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Beginning Saturday, June 22, lifeguards are on duty at all municipal beaches seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Greater Sudbury Public Libraries are open during regular operating hours, which vary at each branch. For information visit www.sudburylibraries.ca
The City of Greater Sudbury will continue to monitor weather trends through the weekend in partnership with Public Health Sudbury & Districts.
