How to Pay Your Property Tax Bill
There are a number of ways to pay your property tax bill, including:
- by mail, telephone or via internet banking.
- at most banks, trust companies, credit unions and Caisse Populaires.
- through your mortgage, arranged through your mortgage company.
- by enrolling in a pre-authorized payment plan where payments are automatically withdrawn from your bank account either monthly or on the instalment due date.
- in person at Tom Davies Square or at a Citizen Service Centre.
Property taxes are calculated by taking the value of your property and multiplying it by the total tax rate, established by Council each spring. The value of your property is established by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC).
