Community Celebrations

Let the long weekend fun begin with a fantastic lineup of events taking place across Greater Sudbury. For full details, visit disoversudbury.ca/events.

Reminder that Science North is piloting a new and cutting-edge drone show for Canada Day this year, as an alternative to the traditional firework display. This shift may impact the distance within which residents can enjoy the show. For the best viewing opportunity, residents are encouraged to join at Science North.

GOVA Transit will provide a Canada Day Celebration shuttle service to Science North on July 1, with buses departing the Downtown Transit Hub and Southridge Mall (Peavey Mart entrance) every 30 minutes from 11:45 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. The first bus will loop from the Downtown terminal to Science North and back, with daytime stops at the Sudbury Community Arena. For those looking to park and ride to the events, a second bus will loop between the Southridge Mall and Science North. A final return shuttle for both routes will be available following the end of the drone show at Science North. Fare is $1 per person and includes the return trip.
