Celebrate International Older Adults Day at the Healthy Aging Fair

Greater Sudbury residents are invited to join the Older Adult Advisory Panel’s Age Friendly Steering Committee for a Healthy Aging Fair to celebrate International Older Adults Day on Tuesday, October 1.

The free event is taking place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Caruso Club, and will include information booths on older adult centres, recreation opportunities, social and health programs, retirement living and other community services for adults aged 55 and older, and caregivers of older persons. The Healthy Aging Fair is an opportunity for older persons and caregivers to meet with local agencies to learn about what each organization has to offer and for organizations to connect.

The fair is part of the Age Friendly Steering Committee’s ongoing work to move forward with local priority action items outlined in the Age Friendly Plan and raise education and awareness about programs, services, resources, and events for older adults within the community.

GOVA Transit will be offering free transportation for fair participants. When boarding the bus, simply let your driver know you are attending the Healthy Aging Fair.
