Young Business Owners Explore Entrepreneurship Through Summer Company

Aug 25, 2022

Three student entrepreneurs between the ages of 15 and 29 launched their own businesses this summer through the Government of Ontario’s 2022 Summer Company Program. Administered in Greater Sudbury by the Economic Development Division’s Regional Business Centre, Summer Company provides training, mentorship and start-up grants of up to $3,000 to successful applicants.

Summer Company allows students to develop business skills while expressing themselves through their passion and creativity. The group of enthusiastic entrepreneurs rose to the challenge and developed a solid business plan which included a budget and financial forecast to prove the feasibility of their ideas. With the continued support of the Regional Business Centre, students implemented their business strategies to successfully offer their products and services in our community throughout the summer.

“Congratulations to all the beneficiaries of this year’s Summer Company program,” said the Mayor of Greater Sudbury. “These young entrepreneurs are the business leaders of tomorrow and I congratulate them for their contributions to our community. I urge all Greater Sudbury residents to get out and support their local business.”
