Public hearing deferred to October 3, 2022

The second public hearing regarding a rezoning application for 95 Estelle St. has been moved to 1 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2022.

An application for rezoning has been submitted for the former St. Remi School site and abutting undeveloped lands located at 95 Estelle St., Sudbury. A total of 179 dwelling units are proposed in a mix of housing types, to include five-storey multiple dwellings, ground-oriented multiple dwellings, row dwellings and semi-detached dwellings.

The applicant is requesting site-specific relief for parking on a basis of one parking space per unit where 1.5 spaces per unit are required. A Traffic Impact Study was submitted as part of a complete application.

The application is subject to a two-stage public hearing process. The Stage 1 hearing took place on October 25, 2021. Monday’s hearing will be the second at which time recommendations will be brought forward to Committee.

There are three options to participate in the public hearing, regarding this zoning application, during Monday’s Planning Committee meeting:

  • Attend in person: Attend in person by attending the Council Chamber, Tom Davies Square, 200 Brady St., Sudbury.
  • Submit comments in writing: Submit comments in writing to the City of Greater Sudbury, City Clerk, Box 5000, Station A, Sudbury, Ontario, P3A 5P3, prior to this meeting or by email to clerks@greatersudbury.ca. Comments received by 4 p.m. on September 30, 2022, will be provided to Members of the Planning Committee and Council prior to the meeting; and/or,
  • Register to speak at the Committee Meeting via electronic participation: Please go www.greatersudbury.ca/publichearings for instructions to register for electronic participation.  Interested members must register prior to 4 p.m. one business day prior to the date of the hearing.
