Potential Waste Collection Delays Due to Staff Shortage

Potential delays in waste and recycling collection are possible across Greater Sudbury as the City’s contractor continues to experience worker shortages.

Staff shortages in the waste management industry is an issue affecting these services in municipalities across North America.

Waste and recycling collection that is not completed on a regularly scheduled collection day will be rescheduled, typically, to the following day. Residents are asked to have all items out for collection no later than 7 a.m. on the day of collection. Updates and adjustments to collection schedules will be posted to the City’s social media pages and pre-recorded notices will be accessible by calling 311.

Residents are encouraged to download the City’s Waste Wise app and register for notifications to be automatically updated of collection schedule changes.  Search for “Greater Sudbury Waste Wise” on the Google Play or the App Store.
