Community Asked to Share their Ideas for Recreation in Wanup

Dec 22, 2021

A group of community members in Wanup wants to create a new recreation opportunity in their area. The City of Greater Sudbury is reaching out to the public to hear what your priorities are.

Residents are being asked to submit their input on what new activities or upgraded recreation amenities they think would best serve the future needs of the Wanup community.

Residents can share their ideas on overtoyou.greatersudbury.ca until January 31, 2022. They can also call 311 to submit their feedback.

Information collected will be shared with the community to help residents better understand their needs.

While there are currently no funds allocated for this initiative, public consultation is the first step in providing the foundation for any potential future recreation project for the area.

Community-based projects such as this can apply for Healthy Community initiative (HCI) funding, and any community fundraising could augment those funds: https://www.greatersudbury.ca/city-hall/grants-and-funding/hci-fund/.
