Greater Sudbury Public Library Accepting New Holds for Curbside Pickup

Jun 19, 2020

The Greater Sudbury Public Library is accepting new holds on library materials for curbside pickup as part of a restart to its regular services.

Last week, the library distributed 2,460 items placed on hold prior to the closure of libraries in March. Library buildings remain closed until further notice. Plans are underway for a phased reopening.

Residents can browse the digital library at www.sudburylibraries.ca or call the following six branches to place a hold on books, magazines, DVDs and other library materials available at Chelmsford, Lively, Main, New Sudbury, South End and Valley East public libraries.

Staff will schedule an appointment for curbside pickup at one of the six branches. Drop boxes for returns are open at these locations. Late fees remain waived until further notice.

All returned items undergo a 72-hour quarantine. While library staff wear personal protective equipment while handling materials for loan, residents should follow public health guidelines regarding retail pickup: https://www.phsd.ca/health-topics-programs/diseases-infections/coronavirus/shopping-takeout-and-support-services-covid-19.
