Residents Invited to PowerNow!

Apr 18, 2019

Join the second of a series of hands-on discussions to help shape the city’s energy consumption future.

Following a previous round of public feedback, residents are invited to learn more about the latest PowerNow! initiatives and discuss potential building, transportation, waste and energy actions.

The event is being held on Wednesday, April 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Northbury Hotel and Conference Centre Aspen Hall, located at 50 Brady St.

The PowerNow! project explores energy opportunities, as a community. It will create a vision for a local energy future that supports local jobs and economic development, while improving quality of life and addressing climate change impacts.

Over the course of the 18-month project, several subjects will be explored, including where Greater Sudbury’s energy comes from and how it is used, in order to:

•    Be more energy efficient in our transportation and buildings
•    Take advantage of renewable energy opportunities
•    Make the right energy and community investments
•    Lower energy use expenses
•    Lower greenhouse gas emissions
•    Create jobs and improve the design of our city
