Residents Invited to Display Road Safety Lawn Signs

May 1, 2019

The 2019 Watch for Us! Community Lawn Sign Program, which aims to educate residents about increased dangers caused by driving too fast in residential neighbourhoods, has returned for its second year.

The lawn signs are now available to residents, free of charge, at all Citizen Service Centres and libraries. The signs caution motorists to watch for pedestrians and cyclists, including children, seniors and persons with disabilities or those who use mobility devices. A limited number of signs are available on a first come, first serve basis.

The Watch for Us! Community Lawn Sign program is an initiative of the Sudbury Road Safety Committee, a partnership between the City of Greater Sudbury, the Greater Sudbury Police Service, Public Health Sudbury and Districts, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Ministry of Transportation. It’s mandate is to increase driver awareness of speeding in residential neighbourhoods.
