Residents Asked to Rate Satisfaction with Municipal Parks, Open Spaces and Leisure Services

Aug 29, 2019

The City of Greater Sudbury is checking with residents to determine levels of participation and satisfaction with municipal parks, open spaces and leisure services.

The primary objective of the Parks, Open Space & Leisure Master Plan is to develop a strategy for the management and delivery of services at municipal parks and facilities. The City of Greater Sudbury schedules a thorough review and revision of the plan every 10 years. This year marks the halfway point to the next major review in 2024.

The purpose of this community consultation is to determine whether the current master plan is meeting changes in demands and trends for leisure services and facilities. The survey mirrors that of 2014 for comparative purposes and will act as a starting point for the main review in 2024.

A review of the Parks, Open Space and Leisure Master Plan will be brought forward to the Community Services Committee on October 21, 2019 which will include results of citizen feedback.

Residents are encouraged to complete a survey online at overtoyou.greatersudbury.ca until Sunday, September 15, 2019. Paper copies of the survey are available at all Greater Sudbury Public Libraries and at the Tom Davies Square Citizen Service Centre.
