Register for a Community Energy and Emissions Plan Workshop

Nov 25, 2019

Residents are invited to share their ideas to reduce energy use, greenhouse gas emissions and impact on the environment during a Community Energy and Emissions Plan (CEEP) workshop on Thursday, November 28.

Greater Sudbury’s Community Energy and Emissions Plan has been developed in response to a strategic priority of Council to provide leadership in the development and promotion of ideas, policies and actions that will mitigate the impact of climate change.

Council voted unanimously to declare a climate emergency to protect the local economy, ecosystems and community from climate change. Staff has been directed to present a report by year end that describes an adaptation and mitigation plan with input from residents.

The draft Community Energy and Emissions Plan will be open for review, comment and additional ideas during this week’s workshop at the Northbury Hotel and Conference Centre, 50 Brady St., Sudbury.  The workshop begins at 6:30 p.m. and there is no charge for admission.

Residents may register online at https://powernowgreatersudbury3.eventbrite.ca or by calling 705-674-4455, extension 4398.

Additional opportunities to review and comment on the draft plan are available online until December 7, 2019, at overtoyou.greatersudbury.ca.
