Greater Sudbury Wins Bid to Host National Travel Media Association in 2020

Jul 4, 2019

For the first time, the City of Greater Sudbury will welcome members of the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) as the host of their annual conference and general meeting scheduled for June 2020.

TMAC is a not-for-profit agency serving almost 400 industry and media travel professionals. Each year, members gather to exchange story ideas, explore new destinations and keep up to date on skills, trends and techniques. Greater Sudbury has been chosen as the site of the conference through a competitive bid process.

“This is a chance to put our best foot forward to showcase our city to Canada’s best and most active professional travel writers, broadcasters, editors, bloggers, online influencers and photographers,” said Dana Jennings, City of Greater Sudbury Manager of Tourism and Culture. “TMAC members will visit several of the city’s marquee attractions, event venues, culinary feats, and hidden gems as part of local site tours during the conference.”

Engaging travel media is an important strategy in Greater Sudbury’s tourism marketing and promotional programs. More information about TMAC is available at
