French Programming Pilot Launched at Nickel District Pool

Feb 8, 2019

A pilot program to provide group swimming lessons in French at Nickel District Pool is now open for registration.

French speaking instructors will lead lessons for tots and children between March 1 and April 13 at Nickel District Pool. If there is sufficient demand for the service, a second session will be scheduled in late spring. Cost is $77 for seven lessons.

Various levels of preschool lessons for ages 3 to 5 are scheduled on Fridays between 4 and 6 p.m. Lessons at various levels for ages 6 and over are scheduled on Fridays between 4 and 5:30 p.m.

More advanced swimmers ages 6 and up who qualify for Rookie Patrol, Ranger Patrol and Star Patrol programs begin their lessons at 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays.

Greater Sudbury pools require a minimum number of registrants in each swim program. Classes may be combined or cancelled if there is low enrolment.

Residents can register online at www.greatersudbury.ca/leisure, in person at Nickel District Pool and Citizen Service Centres, or by calling 311. For more information about swim programs at Nickel District Pool, visit www.greatersudbury.ca/nickeldistrict.

Additional French language swim lessons are available at the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre in Hanmer.
