City of Greater Sudbury Participates in PDAC International Mining Conference

Greater Sudbury will once again showcase its position as a leader in global mining at the annual Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) conference from March 3 to 6 in Toronto.  

PDAC is the largest annual mining industry event in North America. This year, the conference is expected to attract over 25,000 delegates from around the world. Close to 90 Greater Sudbury based companies will exhibit at the three-day event, and close to double will participate in other capacities.

“PDAC is an opportunity for companies working in all aspects of mining to come together and showcase their work to stakeholders, investors, and all levels of government,” said Greater Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger. “Greater Sudbury’s presence at PDAC is always remarkable, we’re the global leader in mining, and I look forward to once again celebrating, promoting and supporting our local industry.”

The Greater Sudbury team, which includes Mayor Brian Bigger and staff from the City’s economic development division, is scheduled to participate in several meetings with current and prospective mining and mining supply companies, trade commissioners, and ambassadors.

On Tuesday, March 5, the City will host the Sudbury Mining Cluster Reception, in partnership with 22 local companies and organizations. The reception will see close to 400 guests attend and provides a unique networking opportunity between mining companies, local suppliers and mining sector stakeholders.

The Sudbury Mining Cluster Reception is made entirely possible through partnerships with local companies and organizations, including Premier Sponsors Desjardins Business Centre, Glencore and Vale; and Silver Sponsors Cambrian College, CEMI, Epiroc, Fly Sudbury, Frontier Lithium Inc., Icon Mining Solutions, J.L. Richards, Laurentian University, MacLean Engineering, Maestro Digital Mine, Mansour Mining, Milman, NORCAT, Pioneer Construction/Fisher Wavy, Rocvent, SAMSSA, Science North, Symboticware and Testmark Laboratories.
