City Celebrates 2019 National AccessAbility Week

National AccessAbility Week, May 26 to June 1, 2019 is a week for Canadians to promote inclusion and accessibility in our communities and workplaces, to celebrate our progress and to be inspired to further break down accessibility barriers.

In celebration of National AccessAbility Week, the City of Greater Sudbury and community partners will host a series of events to raise awareness and to recognize the efforts of individuals and groups who are working to make our community more welcoming and accessible. These events will highlight the importance of inclusivity for all residents and inspire the elimination of accessibility barriers.

The full schedule of events is as follows:

Proclamation at the Bell Park Elizabeth Street Entrance with Mayor Bigger and members of the Accessibility Advisory Panel on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at 10 a.m.

Accessible Free Public Swims at Gatchell Pool on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. and Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 6 p.m.

Trail Walk hosted by Kivi Park in partnership with Rainbow Routes at Kivi Park, Long Lake Road, on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 1 p.m.

Closed Caption Family Movie Night at the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre in Bell Park on Friday, May 31, 2019, at 8 p.m.
