This Week at The Market: Local Strawberries are Here!

Jul 5, 2018

York Street Location – Thursday, July 5, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Beaulieu Farm from Chelmsford is back with local strawberries picked the day-of so you can’t beat the freshness. Also look for greens, sprouts, organic pastured chicken, alpaca patties and sausages, maple syrup, and a growing array of other local veggies coming from our local farmers. Pick up handmade treats for your canine best friend, plus all natural soaps, handmade jewelry, baked goods, and outdoor drink stands for your summer gatherings.

Vegspiration101 and The Busy V will be on-site serving up delicious vegan fare. Stop by the Junction Creek Stewardship Committee’s stall to learn about their conservation initiatives and how to get involved.  The City’s water buggy will also be on hand to help you beat the heat and keep you hydrated.  Bring your refillable bottles.

Residents are invited to share ideas on the Festival Square public space of the proposed Kingsway Entertain District at an information drop-in session on July 5 at the York Street Market from 2 to 6 p.m. Comments gathered will provide valuable input from the community to help shape the design and functions of the Kingsway Entertainment District and Arena/Event Centre Festival Square.
Elgin Street Location – Saturday, July 7, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Over 25 vendors will be offering farm fresh produce, chicken, alpaca patties and sausages, baked goods, all natural soaps and candles, jewelry, handmade children’s toys,  household accessories, and dog treats. Fresh-picked local strawberries will be available, as well as handmade bagels, freshly brewed coffee, hot dogs and sausages, and Indian food.

Junction Creek Stewardship Committee is back, visit the mini gallery from Artists on Elgin and meet our featured photographer Douglas Bornn, and enjoy the folk-pop sounds of quintet Jubilation from 11-1.

The Market is open rain or shine. Check our Facebook page @GreaterSudburyMarket for more vendor features each week.
