Street Sweeping Underway in Greater Sudbury

Apr 27, 2018

The City’s street sweeping program is currently underway and will run through to mid-June.
City crews have begun sweeping sidewalks, boulevards, medians and some streets throughout the city.

Currently, business centres, sensitive drainage areas and the Sudbury Rocks Marathon route are areas of priority.

The contractor's street sweeping tentative schedule is as follows:

April 27 to May 10 – Sudbury Rocks marathon route, Kingsway, and part of the Flour Mill, downtown and the area around the former Hospital site
May 10 to May 16 - New Sudbury, Minnow Lake, Moonlight Area and Lively
May 17 to May 25 – Southend, Copper Cliff, Azilda and Chelmsford
May 26 to May 31 – Garson, Falconbridge, McCrea Heights, Val Caron, Val Therese and Hanmer
June 1 to June 8 – Capreol and any remaining clean-up needed

Locations not listed above will be completed by City crews before June 8.

Residents are asked to avoid parking overnight on municipal roads and remove basketball and hockey nets from streets until sweeping is complete. Residents are also asked not to place garbage containers and recycling boxes on roads or in gutters.

We thank residents for their patience and for understanding that noise and dust are inevitable during street sweeping operations.
