Residents Invited to Comment on Proposed Ice Pad for Penman Park, Garson

Sep 27, 2018

Penman Park Neighbourhood Association has applied for financial assistance under the City of Greater Sudbury’s Healthy Community Initiative (HCI) Fund to construct a permanent outdoor ice pad to serve residents of Garson.

Plans for the project include a permanent concrete pad enclosed by rink boards, outdoor pole lights for illumination and a water hook-up to flood the ice.

Penman Park currently has an informal ice rink. The rink is created on a grassy area using a water truck. There are neither rink boards nor outdoor lights.

Cost of the proposed permanent ice pad is over $100,000 and would be completed in two phases. The Penman Park Neighbourhood Association is fundraising and seeking donations in-kind to support this initiative.

Residents are invited to complete a questionnaire at overtoyou.greatersudbury.ca
