Public Hearing for Kingsway Rezoning Applications

The Planning Committee welcomes public comment regarding an application for rezoning to permit a recreation and community centre in the form of a public arena and applications for official plan amendment and rezoning to permit a place of amusement in the form of a casino. 

Both applications are for lands located on the north side of the Kingsway, northwest of Levesque Street in Sudbury and include:

-    The property owner  has submitted an application for rezoning to the Planning Committee to permit a new public arena on approximately 11.96 hectares of land. 

-    The property owner and Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited have submitted applications for Official Plan Amendment and rezoning to the Planning Committee to permit a casino on approximately 6.96 hectares of land.

Residents are invited to present comments before the Planning Committee on Monday, January 22, 2018, in the Council Chamber of Tom Davies Square, 200 Brady Street, Sudbury.  The meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. 
The January 22, 2018 meeting is the first of two public hearings regarding land use planning applications for the arena and casino. A second public hearing will be scheduled later in 2018.

Residents may also submit comments in writing by email to clerks@greatersudbury.ca or by mail to the City of Greater Sudbury, City Clerk, Box 5000, Station A, Sudbury, Ontario, P3A 5P3. Comments can be submitted anytime from January 8 until prior to the public hearing on January 22.
