City of Greater Sudbury Citizen Survey Begins This Weekend

Apr 12, 2018

As part of City Council’s commitment to engage residents in decisions that affect programs, services and policies, the City of Greater Sudbury is pleased to launch the 2018 Citizen Survey.

The City has retained Metroline Research Group Inc., a national marketing research company, to survey 1,200 random households for levels of satisfaction with local quality of life and opinions on municipal services. Metroline Research Group will provide a statistically valid survey of 1,200 residents, conducted by telephone. The City encourages residents of legal voting age who are contacted by Metroline Research Group to participate in the survey. The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete and will cover the following topics:

•    issues that are most important to residents;
•    residents’ opinion about the quality of life in Greater Sudbury;
•    residents’ opinions about municipal services, programs, and facilities; and
•    residents’ general sense of the future of Greater Sudbury.

In the interests of public engagement and inclusiveness, the City will also make available an online survey, from Monday April 16 to Friday, May 4, at  www.greatersudbury.ca/citsurvey. The survey will be available in paper format by request to 311@greatersudbury.ca

The Citizen Survey was previously conducted in 2009 and in 2016; the results of the 2018 survey will be compared to the 2016 survey for benchmarking purposes. Results of the 2018 City of Greater Sudbury Citizen Survey will be presented to Council in the summer of 2018.
