Book a Tour at a Greater Sudbury Drinking Water or Wastewater Treatment Plant

Mar 22, 2018

Residents and schools are invited to book tours of a City of Greater Sudbury Water or Wastewater Treatment Plant in celebration of Canada Water Week.

These tours are free of charge and are available in English or French.
Hundreds of Greater Sudbury residents of all ages have taken part in the tours over the past few years.
Drinking Water or Wastewater Treatment tours, tailored to secondary school students, can be focused on the science and math behind Wastewater Treatment (WWT) or Drinking Water Treatment (WT). Specific curriculum-based topics related to chemicals and/or biology can also be incorporated.

The careers course tour guide focuses on opportunities in the field, including operators, millwrights, electricians/instrument technicians, mechanics and computer specialists.  For Civics course students studying the three levels of government, tour guides can speak about the services offered by the municipality for water and wastewater.
