This Week at The Market: Harvest Fest Fun, Vendor Scarecrow Competition and Fall Harvest Veggies

Oct 13, 2017

Celebrate Harvest Fest this Saturday at the Market with a variety of local talent. Robin from Old Soul Soap Company will let us in on her secrets with a Soap Making Demo at 10:30 a.m.  Jeff Stewart will lead the Afro Madness Drum Troupe in a drumming set at 11 a.m. and then at 1 p.m. they will take the stage for a community drum circle. At noon, Roger Nash will read poetry from his new book, Wazzat? published locally by Latitude 46. Other authors will also be available to sign copies of their newly launched books.

Be the judge in our Vendor Scarecrow Competition. Ballots will be available to vote for your favourite Scarecrow before 1:30 p.m.

There’s never been a better time to enjoy local and Ontario-grown produce. You’ll find a mouth-watering array of rainbow carrots, purple Kohlrabi, red potatoes, orange pumpkins, yellow squash, fresh greens, and much more. Don’t forget apples, tomatoes, cabbages, beets and turnips. Lots of these veggies are excellent keepers, so stock up now.

The Market is open rain or shine Saturdays until October 28th. Check our Facebook page @GreaterSudburyMarket for more vendor features each week.
