The City of Greater Sudbury is updating the Town Centre Community Improvement Plan (CIP) to include new incentive programs introduced into the Downtown Community Improvement Plan.

Visit www.greatersudbury.ca/towncentre to find more information, view the proposed amendments to the Community Improvement Plan and submit comments online. Prior to a recommendation to Council, the Planning Committee will hold a public hearing to receive the views of the public on Monday, December 11 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber of Tom Davies Square.

The purpose of the CIP is to enhance pedestrian friendly commercial areas to attract people and new business. It will also address commercial and residential vacancy issues by improving stock, and rehabilitate older, mixed used building stock to promote the creation of additional residential dwellings. The Town Centre CIP applies to certain properties within the identified town centres of Capreol, Chelmsford, Levack, Flour Mill Business Improvement Area (BIA), Lively, Copper Cliff and Kathleen Street.
