The City of Greater Sudbury in partnership with Ontario's Healthy Kids Community Challenge invites families to participate in the first Greater Sudbury Snow Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on February 6, 2016. Snow Day will run alongside the Pond Hockey Festival on the Rock on Ramsey Lake and will host several winter-themed activities families can enjoy at no cost.

Come out and enjoy snow shoeing, skating, horse-drawn wagon, petting zoo, ice fishing, hiking and many more healthy, outdoor activities. Warm up tents and healthy snacks will also be provided.

Free transit will be available to and from the Snow Day venue. Participants may download or print a voucher to show the bus operator when they board the bus. Vouchers will also be available at all public libraries.

Those who wish to drive to the venue are asked to park in the York Street parking lot and board the shuttle. Free sleds, helmets and equipment for activities will be available for loan at the gate.

The Healthy Kids Communtiy Challenge is a key part of Ontario's Healthy Kids Strategy, a cross-government initiative launched to promote children's health focusing on: healthy start, healthy food, and healthy active communities.

In case of mild weather and unsuitable ice conditions, the venue may change to James Jerome Complex. Please check the website and social media for updates.
