Run. Jump. Play. Everyday! Sign up for free outdoor skating lessons!

Feb 2, 2016

The Healthy Kids Community Challenge wants to make sure that more kids can enjoy all the opportunities for active fun that we have to offer in Greater Sudbury, including outdoor skating rinks.

Sudbury skates will offer a free six week learn-to-skate program in three neighbourhood outdoor rinks this winter for children ages 6 to 12, who want to learn to skate and improve their basic skating skills.

Skating programs will be held at the following outdoor rinks every Saturday for 6 weeks starting February 13:

Antwerp Playground Outdoor Rink
459 Antwerp Street

Adamsdale Playground Outdoor Rink
270 Second Avenue

Chelmsford Outdoor Rink (bilingual)
Coté Park, 215 Edward Street

Skating times are as follows:

Ages 6 to 8 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Ages 9 to 12 from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Skates and helmets will be provided to any participant who needs them and will be free of charge. Our friendly instructors will build kids’ confidence and skills so they can enjoy free outdoor skating, close to home for years to come.

Registrations will be open on February 3. Interested parents or guardians can call 705-674-4455, extension 2455 to register.
