Possibility of Discoloured Water - Sudbury and Coniston

May 19, 2015

Work at the Wanapitei Water Treatment Plant will result in a period of limited water availability and possibly temporary low water service pressure. The work is scheduled to start Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 8 a.m., and will continue for approximately 7 hours. When water service is restored, area residents and businesses in Sudbury and Coniston may notice low water pressure or discolored water.

To clear discolored water, residents are asked to run the cold water tap that is closest to their water meter for approximately 15 minutes to clear sediments from house hold plumbing. A prolonged period of discolored water or low water pressure should be reported to the City of Greater Sudbury by dialing 3-1-1.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to limit water consumption to essential needs only. It is requested that residents not use water for lawn watering, washing vehicles, or washing driveways.
