Open House and Meeting to Review Animal Control and Shelter Services

Sep 17, 2015

The City of Greater Sudbury will host an open house and meeting on Wednesday, September 23, to gather public input during an independent review of animal control and shelter services.

Citizens are invited to attend an open house anytime between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the foyer of Tom Davies Square to speak with municipal staff and consultants. An open meeting, highlighting preliminary findings of a community survey and an exchange of ideas, begins at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber.

A community survey of animal control and shelter services ends this Sunday, September 20. Citizens are encouraged to complete the survey online at www.greatersudbury.ca/pets or on paper at any Greater Sudbury Public Library.

Matrix Consulting Group has been contracted to conduct an impartial review of local animal control and shelter services. The consultant will provide expert analysis of the financial, operational and emotional complexities of these services to develop recommendations for Greater Sudbury Council.
