City of Greater Sudbury Hosting a Syrian Refugee Information Session
In response to interest within Greater Sudbury regarding Syrian Refugee efforts, the City will host a public information session on Wednesday, October 28 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the foyer of Tom Davies Square. The session will provide information on refugee sponsorship and will bring together residents and community groups who wish to offer assistance to Syrian refugees.
Residents will have an opportunity to listen to speakers, network and ask questions of the community organizations on hand to share details on their involvement with the sponsorship and settlement of refugees.
The information session, which will begin at 4 p.m. will feature:
• An address by Mayor Brian Bigger
• A presentation by the Refugee Sponsorship Training Program
• A speaker from the local Syrian community
