Citizens Invited to Apply for Appointment to Sustainable Mobility Advisory Panel

The City of Greater Sudbury is accepting applications from citizens who are interested in serving as volunteer advocates for alternative forms of transportation on the Sustainable Mobility Advisory Panel. The Advisory Panel works with municipal staff, City Council and community partners to turn a vision for a safe and effective local multi-model transportation system into reality.

Four citizens, each representing a pedestrian or cyclist or transit rider or person with a disability, will be appointed to the Advisory Panel for a term ending November 30, 2018. Deadline for applications is Friday, June 12, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. Application forms are available online at www.greatersudbury.ca/advisorypanels at Citizen Service Centres, the Office of the City Clerk at Tom Davies Square, or by dialing 705-674-4455, ext. 4209.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must reside in the City of Greater Sudbury, be a Canadian Citizen and at least 18 years old. Persons with disabilities will be provided with the resources and accommodations necessary to fully participate in meetings.

The primary objectives of the Sustainable Mobility Advisory Panel are to assist municipal staff, Greater Sudbury Council and community partners in implementing recommendations of the Sustainable Mobility Plan and Bicycle Master Plan and to advocate for policies and develop recommendations affecting pedestrians, cyclists, transit users and persons with disabilities.
