The City of Greater Sudbury is changing to a more environmentally responsible and cost-efficient residential leaf and yard trimmings collection policy. 

The Greater Sudbury Development Corporation (GSDC) Board held its annual general meeting on June 10, 2015. Dr. Darren Stinson, Chelmsford Animal Hospital, was reinstated as chair for a third term, while Wendy Watson of Greater Sudbury Utilities, and Paul Kusnierczyk of Royal LePage North Heritage Realty, will return for their second three-year terms.

Greater Sudbury Transit is extending service to include stops at St. Gabriel’s Villa in Chelmsford and the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area. Shelbourne, Laval, Kingsway

Film crews will be on site at Laura Avenue in Sudbury from Monday, June 15 to Friday June 19, and from Monday, June 22 to Friday, June 26.

Structure adjustments, boulevard work and milling on both sides of the Kingsway will cause lane closures from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Bancroft Drive to the Nissan dealership Thursday, June 11, until Sunday, June 14.

MacIsaac Drive, the new road built to link Algonquin Road and Long Lake Road, will open Tuesday, June 16, 2015. 

Cyril Varney Public School, Churchill Public School and École publique Jean-Éthier-Blais are the 2015 winners of the annual Ugliest Schoolyard Contest, presented by VETAC, Greater Sudbury's Regreening Advisory Panel.
