Soccer Fields

COVID-19 Update – July 16, 2021

As of Friday, July 16, Greater Sudbury will enter step three of the Province’s Roadmap to Reopen. The roadmap outlines a three-step plan to safely and gradually ease public health measures and reopen the province.

Play fields may be used for outdoor sports and games, with restrictions, as in step 2. The number of spectators must not exceed 75 per cent of the usual capacity. Field houses will reopen on July 26, with capacity limits.

As in step two, permit holders are responsible for monitoring spectators, performing contract tracing of attendees and having an approved safety/return to play plan. For more information about booking, please contact 311 by phone or Live Web Chat (311.greatersudbury.ca).

As a reminder, these amenities are also open:
• Municipal beaches (lifeguard supervision from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily)
• Splash pads
• Municipal boat launches
• Municipal campgrounds at Centennial Park, Ella Lake and Whitewater Lake
• Tennis, basketball and pickleball courts
• Skate and BMX parks
• Selkirk disc golf facility
• Parks, playgrounds, trails and other open spaces

Users must maintain a distance of two metres from people who are not part of their household. A mask or face covering is recommended when physical distancing is a challenge. Benches, waste bins, gates, handrails and other surfaces are not sanitized.
