Clearwater Lake

COVID-19 Update – July 16, 2021

As of Friday, July 16, Greater Sudbury will enter step three of the Province’s Roadmap to Reopen. The roadmap outlines a three-step plan to safely and gradually ease public health measures and reopen the province.

Seven municipal beaches are open with lifeguard supervision from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Spring Phosphorus Results
The 2018 spring phosphorus value for Clearwater Lake is 4.7 µg/L. The average total spring phosphorus for Clearwater Lake since 2004 is 3.49 µg/L which is well below the Provincial Water Quality Objective of 20.0 µg/L and indicates that this lake is likely oligotrophic.

Clearwater Lake has 106 permanent residents and 22 seasonal/recreational residents.

Clearwater Lake is located 13 km south of downtown Sudbury in Broder and Tilton townships. Clearwater Lake is 76.0 hectares in size with a shoreline perimeter of 5.0 kilometres. The maximum depth of Clearwater Lake is 21.5 metres. It has a volume of 64.2 x 105 m3. View maps of Clearwater Lake.
