Dogs and Other Animals
You can bring a dog if you follow the City's Animal Control By-law 2002-285. You can bring a guide dog or other trained service animal that assists individuals with visual, hearing, or other impairments, identified by a harness.
Responsibilities for Dog Owners:
- Take reasonable precautions to ensure your dog does not behave in a way that threatens the safety of people or other animals.
- Ensure your dog does not damage gardens, plants, buildings, fences, park furniture, playground equipment, playing fields, or any public facilities in the park.
Restricted Areas for Dogs:
- Do not allow your dog to enter or remain in these areas:
- Splash pads
- Sports fields
- Ball diamonds
- Tennis courts
- Ice surfaces for skating
- Ski hills
- Gardens, flower beds, or landscaped areas
- Designated swimming or skateboarding areas
Service Animal Exception:
- Service animals, such as guide dogs, are allowed in all areas to assist individuals with visual, hearing, or other impairments.
