Fees for Frozen Pipes on Your Property

If the frozen water pipe is on private property, the City charges a fee determined on a time spent basis:

  • Regular hours: $212 per hour
  • After business hours: $322 per hour

This fee applies each time the City has to thaw a water pipe on private property. You will be advised to leave your water running at a steady stream about the width of a drinking straw to prevent pipes from freezing again. Extra water usage will be at your cost and will appear on your water bill.

If the pipe refreezes on private property, you must follow the same process to notify the City and pay associated crew costs for thawing.
