Private Septic System

Some homes are not connected to municipal wastewater services and drain into a septic tank system designed to collect sewage. Biosolids settle to the bottom of the septic tank and the water at the surface of the tank flows into a drain field to be naturally filtered through the surrounding soil. A septic tank will require maintenance over time as it fills with biosolids.
